Ever since I can remember, color has defined the world for me. As a child, somehow I felt the untold history or essence of an object through its color or vibration. The color vibration seemed almost musical and music has also been magical to me , throughout my life. All this is hard to put into words as to me the spiritual and the true essence of art is beyond words and the physical universe. It’s almost as if the physical universe or whatever medium is used, sound, paint, color, etc., is just a lower vibration that is a vehicle to carry the spiritual message. True art has a timeless message.
My goal is to communicate rhythm and the feeling of music through color and form. The great-Russian artist Vasily Kandinsky also had an awareness of how the visual and audio perceptions can cross or affect each other. His book, “Concerning the Spiritual in Art” should in my view, be read by all artists. I agree with his viewpoint on art and would say he as an artist has had the most influence on me.
I have a BA in Art, cum laude from CA State University Long Beach, CA. Have also studied at Cranbrook in Michigan. I have taught art classes at Cypress Kid’s College, Cypress, CA and many other community centers. I’m currently a pastel portrait artist at Disneyland (created over 6000 portraits) and have also done caricatures there… All print and image sizes are approximate. If stated that art is matted and framed it also has glass or some clear covering such as Plexiglas. Color may vary from image on your computer screen but will be as close as the printing process allows.
